Saralta in a mobile

my mother has never got around to learn using all features of her mobile phone. Maybe she is too old to learn new things.Maybe they haven't designed a simple phone for elderly people as yet....or for that matter people who just don't want to go through the painful process of tunnel like user interfaces and sore thumbs to do simple activities like searching for a name or sending sms. And no-even apple I-Phone has its critics.I invite readers to tell me either a simple mobile phone that is not painful to use or help design one.
